Joining Barustors
Barustors only serves business and corporate clients. We do not handle consumer legal matters and we only refer attorneys who have built prominent careers serving business and corporate clients. Any attorney who meets our strict minimum standards may join Barustors at no charge; we charge no membership or “panel” fees. Our member attorneys pay us modest fees on referred matters, but only if the client hires them. The client never pays for our services.

If (1) you are a highly-rated partner or solo practitioner in a San Francisco Bay Area law firm, (2) your entire law firm has no more than 20 lawyers, (3) you have been practicing law for at least fifteen years, (4) you have no disciplinary actions against you, (5) you have at least three business clients who will give you an excellent recommendation, and (6) you carry at least $1 million of professional liability insurance ($500,000 for firms of four or fewer lawyers; $300,000 for sole practitioners), you may request a membership agreement that contains the complete criteria.

Should You Join Barustors?
Barustors is not a primary source of business for our member attorneys. Rather, highly skilled attorneys join our service in order to qualify for the referrals our clients may bring us. If you are highly regarded by your business clients and your peers for a particular area of expertise, we encourage you to contact us for an application that will include all membership criteria.

This is an advantageous time to start a firm.  These [big firm] lawyers are skimming some of the cream off the top of their former firms and catering to clients’ cost needs.
