In 2000, the State Bar of California granted The Cosmides Group certification to create and operate BARUSTORS, the state's first and only certified LRS created specifically for business, corporate, and insurance clients. Our mission is to become the business community's referral colleague, their most trusted advisor on the selection of experienced legal counsel.

Is Your Attorney a BARUSTOR?

The term BARUSTORS was created by The Cosmides Group to refer to what we consider the top segment of attorneys. BARUSTORS are partners in their law firms with a minimum of 15 years experience, who have been highly rated by other attorneys in one or more respected, peer-based publications or associations. BARUSTORS speak or write about the area of law for which you are hiring them, and they may sit on committees or associations under that practice area. They have no public record of disciplinary action against them, and they carry at least one million dollars of professional liability insurance. Any San Francisco business attorney who meets our minimum standards may register with BARUSTORS.
